Inspired by a couple from Chincoteague Island, Virginia seeking a home that is welcoming to extended family and guests and evokes the spirit of the island home they are leaving behind.This project aims to accommodate their needs for a breezy, bright and contemporary home while paying respect to the integrity of the building and its surrounding environment. Key to this concept is a central kitchen space - a space I have dubbed "the live-in-kitchen".
